Tween journals for wonderbly
A personalisable journal that captures a whole year of learning and growing
I was commissioned by publishers Wonderbly to design a new personalisable journal. Aiming to boost confidence and self-expression, encourage gratitude and robustness in the hard-to-reach tween audience. Working with children’s mental health specialist and author Poppy O’Neill and writer Simon Davies, we designed two versions. A birthday-to-birthday journal, and a traditional year-to-year option. The book needed to be stylish but playful. Grown-up enough to appeal to a thirteen year old, whilst simultaneously catching the eye of a seven year old. It also needed design solutions for over 90 personalisable elements that could flex to accommodate names from two to thirteen letters and still look good!
